We are happy to let all our benefactors know that 2023-2024 academic school year is on the right track. The students of Grand Boulage, Haiti will start school the first week of October 2023. This year annual Christmas Party will be on Friday December 8, 2023..Unfortunately the WCCF team will not be able to travel to Haiti for this year Christmas Party due to the ongoing political instability in Port Au Prince the Capital and surrounding areas. we will continue to sponsor this annual event as usual.
We Care Charitable Foundation (WCCF) is a nonprofit organization founded in Chicago in 2002 in order to make lasting improvements in the lives of children living in poverty in Grand Boulage, Haiti. WCCF specifically works in raising financial support, in-kind donations, and finding sponsorship for these kids. The monetary donations we receive pay for annual tuition, books, uniforms, and daily hot lunches for the students.
Grand Boulage is a small village located northwest of Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, between the cities of Tomazo and Mirbalais. It has a population of 2,000 with 70% of the people under the age of 17. The village has no running water and the people often have to travel miles to retrieve water for their basic needs. For the past 20 years, WCCF has organized a “Christmas Dreams Come True” party for the village, where members of the We Care Team and supporters spend the day with the kids and bring them clothes, food, toys, and special treats. It has become an annual event that undoubtedly brings comfort and joy to the members of the community. Fr. Roland Francois is the Pastor/Administrator of the parish and school in Grand Boulage. He serves as the liaison between WCCF and the people of Grand Boulage. With his help, we are able to continuously expand our relationship with the people of the village.
Thanks to your generosity the Grand Boulage, Haiti school had a 80% graduation rate. That’s the best in our school’s history!
However, we still have a long way to go, WE NEED YOUR ONGOING HELP! Our students are ready and eager to learn, but most families cannot afford tuition, uniforms and the most basic supplies, such as books, writing pads and pencils.
In order to reach our goal of sending 400 + children to school every year, we need to raise enough money annually to cover the following amounts.
$250 – Tuition & Books
$75 – Daily Hot Lunch
$60 – 2 Sets of Uniforms
*These are annual costs per student.
Help us reach our goal by sponsoring one child. If you are unable to send in a lump sum of $385, you can divide it as you like: six donations of $64/month or an ongoing monthly donation of $32/month, for example.
